How we write maths in our lecture notes

A short guide to the LaTeX syntax supported on this site, for students and lecturers alike.

  • #guide
  • #latex

Inline formulas go between single dollar signs: $E = mc^2$ renders as E=mc2E = mc^2.

Display formulas use double dollar signs:

∫−∞∞e−x2 dx=π\int_{-\infty}^{\infty} e^{-x^2}\,dx = \sqrt{\pi}

Everything is rendered at build time with KaTeX, so pages load fast and work offline.
